Hi there! My name is Ashlyn Newberry (not blueberry, but close enough) and I am a senior in Mrs. Eng's AP English Literature and Composition, class of 2017.
The past year has been filled with exciting and joyous things for me.
Over the last school year, I fostered 7 dogs through the Isle of Wight Humane Society. This was a blessing in itself; not just for the dogs, but also for me. I ended up adopting the last dog I fostered, a five year old miniature yorkie who's name is Franci (she has an Instagram @fancifrancimcgee).
This summer I lived in Outer Banks, North Carolina and worked at Foxy Flamingo Boutique and at Duck Village Outfitters. I had such a good experience with working and still got to play on the beach almost every day.
In addition to Smithfield High School, I am also a student at the Governor's School for Science and Technology, in the chemical and biological studies strand, located at Thomas Nelson Community College.
I aspire to be a vet with a side of environmentalist.
